Buying a ketone monitor in the UK vs the US

As of 28 September 2026 the only continuous ketone sensor anyone can buy is SiBio’s, sold as a non-medical product. Abbott’s medical sensor is authorized in the US and CE marked in Europe but not yet on sale.

In the UK
- SiBio KS3 is the continuous ketone sensor on sale, on Amazon UK at £74.99 per 14-day sensor (£162.92 a month). The listing says it is not for medical purposes.
- Libre Duo: Abbott has a CE mark and plans launches in selected European countries later in 2026, but has not announced the UK. Under current rules, CE-marked medical devices can be placed on the Great Britain market until 30 June 2030 (GOV.UK); NHS supply is a separate decision.
- Blood ketone testing for people with diabetes is often supplied by the NHS (NHS); Keto-Mojo has a UK shop.
- Lingo is sold in the UK, including at Boots, but measures glucose, not ketones.
In the US
- Libre Duo 10 Day is the first FDA-authorized continuous ketone sensor, for people with diabetes aged 2 and over, by prescription; the launch is planned for later in 2026 and the price is not yet public (Abbott).
- SiBio sells direct from its own shop; it has no FDA authorization.
- Blood meters: Keto-Mojo GK+ (FDA cleared) and Abbott’s Precision Xtra.
For people with type 1 diabetes, and others at risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), ketone levels are a medical matter. Follow the plan from your diabetes team and the guidance from the NHS or the American Diabetes Association. No consumer ketone sensor replaces the testing your care team asks for.
